Deaf blind therapy

http://youtu.be/C4ktJ3BnD4c?t=4m1s

This link is to a video on YouTube that explains work an Occupational Therapist has done involving deaf and blind children. The entire video is about her work with children in general but I though her take on therapy for deaf blind children was really interesting.

  1. I interned at an occupational therapy center in high school for a semester and it was one of the most interesting experiences thus far. Thanks for sharing this! I found it to be really, really interesting.

  2. Thank you for sharing this! Because I have studied Occupational Science and I'm going into OT I have heard about a sensory diet, but this woman's specific example with using a sensory diet with deaf-blind or blind children made a real connection for me. It's just another example of how I can use my OT skills and knowledge of the deaf in my chosen career field!

  3. I am also going to school for Occupational Therapy. Thanks for posting this! I had no clue that OTs could work with specifically deaf/blind individuals. The career is very rewarding in itself. I hope someday I will be able to incorporate my sign language skills with my OT practice! Very neat video.
