SED 337

Before tonight, I really had no clue just how different the types of sign were. I think the group work really helped differentiate between the types and how society uses them. It was fun! :)

  1. I think the group work really helped differentiate them too but at the same time I now feel more confused about signing because there is so much variation!

  2. I thought it was really interesting to learn about Pidgin and SEE because I have never been exposed to them. I wish EKU offered a course that taught about various types of signing so that I can feel better prepared for the future!

  3. Last nights activity was a great learning experience! I too had no idea what pidgin was I have heard more about SEE but it was interesting to see hoe different it is when we signed both ASL and Pidgin right next to it!!
I felt that ASL was easier to understand the story unless you know every sign for every word.. What do you guys think? Which was your favorite? Or which do you think is easiest for you to understand/sign?

  4. I really liked last night's activity as well! At first I was a little bit confused and overwhelmed but it was really interesting to see the different kinds of signing. Pidgin is a lot more complicated than its name implies and after seeing most people struggle with it, it's a bit intimidating!

  5. I enjoyed the activity also. I think it was great to see different styles. I also think it helped give a realistic point of view the differences.
