This is Cued Speech. In part, this is something that I wish to learn. I heard that it's extremely easy to learn and if I ever run into someone that uses this, I'd really like to be able to cue back to them so that I'm clear.
Anyway, it's just another communication option.
I've recently learned a little bit about cued speech in Aural Rehab, and it is amazing what you can understand with it. You are able to sign different dialects and accents, whereas in other sign languages, you cant. I found this really interesting, along with visual phonics, which I have also recently learned about and taken interest in.
