Switched at Birth

So i am a big fan of the show. Here lately i have been watching them on hulu do to a busy life anyways this weeks episode it talks about how the moment a deaf child is born the hospital tells the parent that their child FAILED their hearing test. So these child hasnt even been alive for 24 hours and it is told it FAILED.... it continues talking how that being Deaf makes it to where your never alone that you have Community for support no matter what. I think this is a great way of thinking.

  1. I watch this show as well. I noticed these same things that you mentioned in your post, and, also, the way that the police officer treated and looked down upon Daphne and Deaf individuals when she had to go to the police station for interviewing. It made me realize how strong the Deaf community is when they told how you're never alone and are always supported by Deaf communities all over the world.

  2. I watch this show too and I love it. I think the idea that baby has failed something within 24 hours of being born is absolutely ridiculous. I think that says something about the way hearing doctors need to go about the way they inform the parents. It's not a bad thing to be Deaf it's just different then the "norm"
